Most college students have difficulty adapting in their first semester due to bad habits. Regarding staying organized, avoiding procrastination, limiting distractions, and managing time can be very useful to overachieve.
First, procrastination is the main key to be on track during college. One useful method to avoid procrastination is by trying to do your homework as soon as possible. If you work or have other activities going on make sure that on any spare time you have get your work done. Many of us like to leave everything for the last minute and it just complicates our lives. A very important step to stay away from procrastination is to motivate yourself to do the important things first.

Nowadays, it’s easy to get distracted, mostly because we have devices that keep us constantly connected with peers. A helpful tip can be keeping electronic devices away from you when performing a task. Another thing you should do is find a peaceful place where you can concentrate in order to do any assignments such as a library, studio, or your room. If a person, thing or place is causing a lot of distraction, improve your situation by removing the object or going to different place.
Lastly, managing your time is another way to stay organized. Being a college student comes with more responsibilities, schoolwise as well as recreation stuff. A planner could be a necessary tool to be organized all the time by writing down everything such as deadlines, assignments, and homework. A functional technique is to prioritize school related activities/work first. An unimportant task can consume a lot of your day. Furthermore, creating a time management chart could be a practical procedure to handle your time.
